I got water on the mousepad thingy on my laptop and it started acting really weird...?

It's ok now, but will it stay ok? My dad wants to compare my laptop to his wife's when I visit him this weekend, and I want my laptop to win. XD

Also, what's a good way to make sure my laptop works perfectly? It already works really well, since it's new-ish, but is there anything I can do to make it look really cool? It's a Windows Vista...

Btw.. My dad's a computer programmer or something like that, so he knows a lot about computers... =/
