like rust on the "fleshy" parts of the leaves. I fertilize it with grow-spikes every month. The arteries of the leaves remain a good shade of green yet the rest of the leaf is turning yellowish. It's been getting this way since July so it's not the time of the year that is doing this. The plant gets semi-sun, or is it semi-shade. I think I water it with 2-4 cups of water a day but I do this because it's a tropical tree (36" so far) and I figure that in nature it would get a lot of rain.

  1. too much water, most of the time this is what make the leaves turn yellow, and drop, this will kill the plant in the end...stop watering so much, once a week is enough, and keep it near the window..they like sun..an by the looks of it it is big and it would be hard to lose this plant cause you loved it a lot,for it to grow this big,try and slow down on the watering ok..this will help..good luck..

  2. too much water and fertilizer. water only once every 7 to 10 days. fertilize maybe every other month or once a quarter.
