Question:

I grew lavender. It looks very similiar to Rosemary

and does not have any purple on it. How could I use this for cooking?

There are 2 type English and French lavender, you grew the french and it can be used in a spice melange called Herbes du Provence, a mix of rosemary, basil, oregano, thyme, lavender and savoury, mixed it can be used in or on lamb dishes, chicken in fish dishes or as a marinade booster for meats like venison, wild boar and rabbit.

    I am a former chef and trained in French cuisine, and this is a very popular herb mix, and you can use the rest in sachet for you drawers or hang them in closets after you have dried it, soaked in a mineral oil it is nice in potpourri's


  2. Go to the Napa Valley Lavender co. site. I just went there and they have all kinds of recipes using lavender

  3. Generally speaking, you cannot use lavender for cooking.  It is not in any way related to rosemary.  The characteristic blossoms should appear on your lavender soon.  Things like this are dependent upon Mother Nature.
