  1. Putting a fence around the garden works wonders.

I must admit I really don't mind the wildlife eating a share I put mine up to keep the dogs from urinating and making fecal deposits and just being destructive.  a 24" tall green vinyl coated fence keeps out our big boxer and the little yorkie.

  2. My sister is the head of one of the wildlife organizations for our state, and she says that woodchucks are pretty persistent, but that fox urine is recommended.  I know that sounds disgusting, but you will only be able to smell it for about 1 day and then only the animals will smell it.  You can buy it online at this link: http://www.yardlover.com/products.php?ca...

You can also play a radio out near the garden, but eventually they will get used to it.

A fence will probably not dissuade a woodchuck for long because they can climb.  I've also been working in a fenced-in garden when a woodchuck dug in from below and stole an entire cabbage plant.  Since I love chucks, I would go with the fox urine or maybe just plant extra so they can have a few. :)

  3. There is this stuff called shake away and it really works. It won't harm your garden either it is organic. www.shakeaway.com

  4. build a fence. hm, now I'm wondering if they jump. a fence or spray something with a strong smell. cats hate the smell of orange. I hope hogs also hate something.

  5. We have a groundhog problem also. I've found they don't eat on hot pepper plants or the hot peppers so I bought some inexpensive , ground cayenne pepper ,mixed that w/ some outdated chili powder & dusted all the plants in my garden. As of now it has kept the groundhogs at bay. They don't like some offensive odors , I've been told.

  6. I know this is going to sound weird, but you can actually buy coyote pee and small containers to pour it into (don't get it on you, though--it smells awful).  Since coyotes are predators, it drives away most of the creatures that like to treat your garden like one big salad bar.

  7. Serve ground hog in your pumpkin stew.
