  1. Guess again.

It was a 5 to 4 decision. The country will be as divided about this decision as the Court itself is -- and I do not mean that 55% of the public will support the Court's ruling. I mean that a very large segment of the public will decry this decision and call it conservative judicial activism, .......... and they might be right.

  2. It should be. The US Supreme Court is supposed to have the final say in matters of interpreting the Constitution. The American people should respect this decision.

  3. More work needs to be done. On this issue.

  4. I think its really pathetic it took the Supreme Court to clarify that something listed in the BILL OF RIGHTS is, in fact, a RIGHT. LOL.

Whats next...do libs want to argue if free speech is REALLY free speech, if freedom of religon is really a right. I'm not so certain the right of women to vote is really a right. I think we need to examine that, as well.

This ruling has shown how far this country has sunk. Up until the last 30 years or so, this was never an issue. Everyone, for 200 years understood what number 2 meant. Its only since the rise of liberals and hippies in the 60's and 70's has this suddenly become an issue with the passage of "laws" to restrict the rights of law abiders.

The fact that criminals do not follow laws was apparently lost on them, so they passed more and more until they had outright bans, yet strangely enough, gun crime went higher and higher. (NY, DC, LA, Chicago etc)

Its almost laughable if it wasn't so sad.

Now we need to take this opinion and get rid of all these laws, in mostly liberal states (except vermont, which is ultraliberal and has no gun laws or crime) that prohibit our RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.

    TO ABOVE:

The fact it was 5 to 4 is totally irrlevant, BTW. It may as well been 9-0. The ruling is now case law and agree with it or not, it will and must be followed.

And, for the record, the VAST majority of Americans are pro gun and pro gun rights. Its a very select minority who feel banning guns, not criminals is the answer.

As far as conservative courts...thats a hoot. Try researching their child rape ruling, the Gitmo ruling and several others of late. This is FAR from a conservative court and the ONLY reason this opinion is what it is, is because Justice Kennedy, a liberal, was in the majority.

    Simple law.

Get caught with an illegal gun? 10 years, no parole.

Use an illegal gun in a crime? 10 years, no parole PLUS the time for the actual crime, to run CONSECUTIVELY, also with no parole.

I'm willing to bet gun crime will fall very rapidly.

Unfortunately, that will not jive with the liberal agenda that criminals (and terrorists) have more rights then law abiders and are just misunderstood and need a hug. ( as evidenced by the child rape and gitmo rulings) Years ago, when liberals where not yet a threat to this nation, we did something strange...we put criminals in jails, in harsh conditions, for years.

There is a reason crime rates are always compared to the 60's. As in "crime is at its lowest point since 1960 something"

Why? Because the 60's saw the rise of liberals, the rise of inner city crime, the rise of drugs, the rise of out of wedlock birts and STD's...all liberal themed problems.

It took the election of tough, no nonsense mayors

( example..crime was at an all time high under Dinkins in NYC and it took Rudy to bring it back to.....pre-1960's levels!!)

to put a stop to the nonsense.

Do we ban free speech because someone said something stupid? Or incited hate crimes? Do we ban Islam in the US because people murder in its name?

Do we ban books because they tell people how to make bombs and spread hate?

No we do not. I'm not sure why it suddenly became PC to apply such theories to guns.

  5. yea that was just ridiculos

  6. I think the flood of 2nd Amendment questions is declining. But I think the libs won't give up on their witch hunt.
