I tore my ACL and had my hamstring, and two cadavers put in to replace it. (I know.. Wow. Three? I don't know. Don't ask me. lol) And that was three months ago.. I'm done with physical therapy (we think), Will marching in band effect my knee in a bad way? It does get pretty sore every few days.. Usually after we work on hip shifts and marching backwards.

  1. You may want to march, but you can still be part of the band if you are in the pit crew. Maybe you could learn the xylophone? As much fun as marching band is, it would be so fun if you screwed up your knee again. I know how much of a rigiourous activity it is, when I was in school I was in band, so maybe you should think about that. If you know one instrument, it's easier to learn another, even in a different family. Good look, and best wishes for the marching season!!!

  2. ACL surgery is a pretty big deal. I suggest if you want  to start marching (because I assume it's important to you) that you ease into it. Maybe only practice for thirty minutes and progressively start adding time. I don't really feel you should go into full force because like I said ACL injuries are pretty major. If it becomes extremely swollen and sore the best thing to do is stop.
