I had GPS installed in my car, and then I couldn't turn off my car!!?

The guys at Best Buy installed GPS in my car on Sunday. I drove home, and when I got into my driveway, I couldn't turn the car off!! I called them, went back and they had no idea why it happened. They turned off my car via the alternator, kept it there overnight. The GPS was removed. I went to my dealer the next monrning with my car thinking it was an anti-theft mechanism that was activated, but they couldn't say; all they did was replace my iginition console and sent me on my way. I asked the mechanic if I could install the GPS, and he said he honestly believes it was a coincidence that the ignition went at the same time the GPS was installed and there should be no issues with installing it again in my car.

Any ideas why this could have happened?? I don't believe it was Best Buy's fault seeing how they've never seen this happen before.

It was Best Buy fault because they dont have experts installers and what they likely did when they were looking for the power lead they just probe the main wire harness and shorted out the circuit, they do this on a regular basis...............

you should never had them install your GPS..in my experience with them, they know nothing about cars. I asked the sales person in cars if the sell an alarm with the automatic car door opener (this is in all the new cars now, when you press the button on your little remote, the doors are unlocked along with the alarm disabled.) The guy acted like I'm retarded. I even explained to him what I meant by it. It's pretty much an automatic door lock. Well that was a while ago...never went bought anything from the guy, went to circuit city instead..they did a great job install the same thing in my 98 toyota.

Chances are the hook it up wrong and that killed your car. You should go to a different place to get it done. I hope you got your money back
