My doctor has been following my hcg levels. 3 weeks post d & c hcg was 36. 6 weeks post (yesterday) my hcg was 27. Today hcg is 41 and progesterone is 26.62. My doctor thinks I might be pregnant again but wants to check my levels again in 2 days. Anyone ever experienced this or have any advice?

  1. It is possible. Just like pregnancy after just having a baby.

  2. When you are pregnant, your HCG levels double daily. After a pregnancy, they drop. This explains the moodiness many of us experience. If your level has increased, the likely assumption would be that you are infact pregnant again. It is easiest to become pregnant after a miscariage or birth because your body is more fertile, so this is also working for you. The reason your doctor wants to check your levels again in two days is most likely to be sure that the test was correct and that some other factor did not cause your HCG level to increase. He probably also wants to check to see that it is increasing at a normal level to be sure that this is a healthy pregnancy, and given the fact that you had two miscarriages, may even check it for awhile into your pregnancy. Good Luck, it sounds like the stork may be on the way!
