I had a MRI done which showed a lipoma tumor on my shoulder blade. Should I have a biopsy done? ?

I have alot of cancer in my family. My Dr. says if no pain leave it alone.

I'd say the best thing is a second opinion. Find another doctor. Send him films and reports, see what he thinks.

No harm in a second opinion. But it is possible to have a tumor and just leave it alone. I have two (brain and spine), and have had them for years. Not all tumors are cancerous.

First, if you have any doubts about your doctor's recommendation then see another doctor and see if you get a different answer.

I don't think lipomas are really tumors at all. I have several, and my understanding is that they are just fatty deposits under the skin. My doctor has never said I should do anything about them.
