I had a brace put on today and suddenly i have a lisp!!!?

Question

Today i got a fixed brace put on my top and bottom teeth to straighten them. As soon as it was done i couldnt talk properly but now i am sort of used to it but i have a slight lisp when i say "s's" Will this go away or will it last through out the 18 months i have this brace on for!! Please help!!

ROFL! Honey, don't worry. xDD This is very normal, I actually spent weeks before I got my braces on  DENYING that I would say THIMPLE instead of SIMPLE with all of my friends. With a little practice, you should be able to get used to how your mouth and words work with the braces.

you'll get better with practice, don't stress out about it too much. your mouth and brain are just adjusting to the new addition.

i have lots of friends who have  braces on and at first they talk funny, but it will go away when they  get used to them.  give it a little bit!

it will get better. not the same but better
