I bought this land 7 years ago adjacent to the Rainier Vista Community, before the Light Rail System start the Construction and the Seattle Housing Authority begin the re-development of the Rainier Vista Community. The plat was buildable at the time of sale and we wait until we save enough money to build a house, and now we check back with the city and found out that the land is a wetland...I asked the County Accessor why and how to solve this problem and I was told that I have to do it by myself...Shock and unable to solve the problem, now I need help...Please advise me any lead on how to solve this problem and turn the land around to be build-able so I can start the process of getting a building permit...Thank you

  1. If its the wetland classification that prevents you from building, is it possible to have the land reassessed?  Would sinking pylons satisfy the building requirements?  Would a drain tile installation reduce the surrounding groundwater level?  I'm no expert in the area, just offering a few ideas.  Try contacting the assessor again and asking specifically what options you have.  Good luck.
