I had a calves cramps 2 days ago and the pain still lingers. I had varicose veins on the same right leg too. I think the veins has got to do with the cramps, other than I didn't warm up enough.

Anyway, how do I make the pain go away? I do a lot of sports, and the veins has been with me since 9 y/o.. :(

  1. Definitely do a good amount of stretching before you swim. That will warm up your muscles and hopefully prevent the cramps. Also, make sure to drink a lot of water to prevent dehydration and eat foods high in potassium, such as bananas. If the cramps are still painful, take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Vericose veins can make your leg ache, so you should mention that to your doctor to make sure nothing is going on.
