yes, i get cold sores all the time ! if you use carmex everyday it'll medicate it and help it go away so it isn't contagious anymore. try not to pick them though, because i pick them all the time and they'll leave a scar on your lip if they're big.

i would guess so, one quick way of removing cold sores is to use a bit of toothpaste on them overnight, it dries them up quicly

Yes, you are most likely still contagious, and you could be contagious even when you don't have a cold sore.  It is impossible to tell, though it is not as likely that you will pass on the cold sore virus when you don't have a cold sore.
