It wasn't really a dream, because i was meditating (HW, live a day in the life of a diffrent religion and write up about why you think people do it and how i'd feel about living my whole life like it) i was listening to some sea music with drums in the background. i shut my eyes and after a few seconds i found myself in a tropical jungle! i looked around and saw my dead cat (which is white) behind a leaf, i moved the leaf to find my cat gone and in her place some sparkiling dust which soon settled. then i saw her tail as she swished through some tall straight trees. i followed to find myself on a beach. i ran around the island to find that i was trapped. i started crying as i looked up a star was getting bigger and smaller, even bigger, less smaller untill it was so bright! then i was in my room (i named a star after my cat). i shivered and muttered to myself 'weird' i went over to my window as a huge bird smashed in! it grabbed me by the scruff of my shirt using it's beak. i was now watching this like it was happening to someone else (3rd person). the bird was bigger then a helecopter but smaller then a plane. it was dark brown with a yellow beak. inbetween it's beak and it's eyes (but not conecting) was a blue stripe, but it wasn't all the way around. it stopped halfway down the birds head and in stead of ending like flat or curved it was at an angle

anyway, it lifted me up. i didn't stuggle, instead i was looking for somthing (my dead cat?). the background changed as i saw stars. (I was in space) then the bird dropped me into a huge hole in the ground. i looked like i was about to scream but i was too deep into the hole to see. then suddenly i was 'awake' and had tears in my eyes.

Sorry it's so long i just wanted to fit as much as i can remember in.

if you know what any of that means could you please tell me

Thanks

  1. In your "dream" you are wondering if your cat still lives on in spirit, even though she is physically gone.  The sparkling dust represents your cat's spiritual quality, as you consider that she might be an eternal spirit.

You find yourself on a beach.  A beach, with its infinite grains of sand represent infinity, or eternity.  A view of the ocean, which appears endless, also represents eternity, "foreverness".  You recognize that eternity is real, but you feel trapped on this island... an island of flesh and blood and the boundaries of time itself.

As you ponder the thought of eternal life, fear creeps in.  The bird represents your fear of death, of nothingness.  This bird is a lie, but the lie makes you feel hopeless.  The lie is that someday, you will die and end up in a hole in the ground, and that will be the end of you.

So, this time of meditation showed you the hopes and fears within your own heart and mind, but gave you not true satisfaction.

True meditation is not random or unfocused.  True meditation (the kind they don't teach at school) is focused on a SOMEONE.  That SOMEONE is the God who created you and loves you more than your can imagine.

God is an eternal Spirit, and when He created you, He breathed His own eternal breath into you, and that is your eternal, never dying spirit... the true you.  It is His breath that gives life to every living being, including your beloved cat.  Your dear cat was also (and still is) also an expression of the great Creator God.

In the future, if you choose to meditate, begin your quiet time praying to the God who created you, and ask Him to guide your quiet time in a fruitful way.  Meditation really is a form of "listening" prayer, and it is most profitable to make it clear who you want to hear from when you approach this spiritual exercise!

Many times what you will discover is the contents of your own heart.  Then, ask God to lead you to the answers that will bless and guide you safely through life.

Most of the time, I begin my medition by reading a passage from the most holy, ancient book of TRUTH, the Holy Bible.  Sometimes, I ask God to show me what it means, and how it applies to me.  Other times, I ask Him to show me His truth, to lead me in right  paths, and to make me more loving, as He is.  Times spent in listening prayer (meditation) with my Heavenly Father lead me to greater maturity and peace of mind.

    God bless you!
