I've had dreams like that recently, where they come true.  The one recently was for financial guidance and the next day I got an e-mail from a hotel that I recently stayed in stating they were refunding the amount of my stay.  The next day I got the mail and there were a bunch of coupons in it for stores I frequent.

Hey, it's your money. The question to ask yourself is, "Am I feeling lucky?"  I don't believe the fact that you dreamed that you won the lottery has any bearing on it, but at the same time, I have had dreams that came to fruition. Just wish I'd had a dream about hitting the jackpot come true!  

I wouldn't buy $40 worth of lottery tickets expecting a sure thing. If I spent it on lottery tickets, I would not be surprised to end up with nothing or less than the $40.  It's really whether you would get more fun out of gambling further with your winnings or if you could really use it for something else. It's not that much money so it's probably not going to make that much difference to your life. Now, if you were in Las Vegas and you were up by 100 times that amount, you might want to quit while you were ahead. In the end, it's all what it means to you.

If it happens only once, it is merely coincident.  I would not suggest you spend more than what you can.

Besides, buying lottery is another form of gambling.  Your dream about winning basically indicates desire of being rich.  Winning the $40 fulfill your desire in some way, but that is coincidence.  

Of course, if it happens again with bigger amount, you may have some sort of psychic ability..

Dreams about gambling are not of God so lets assume perhaps you have money struggles. Do not go out and buy more lottery tickets.You will end up with a serious problem, addiction to gambling.Perhaps you should go to church and rather than loose all you're money that you work very hard to get,instead tithe it to the church,put some in the basket. If you give it away it will come back to you in ten fold!

Lottery.. is lottery, scratchers are scratchers.. go for it, the most you can lose of your profits is 38 bucks if you spend it all.

Of course I say this because it is your money, I would just keep it if it were me and go to lunch.
