I had a dream about getting shot, what does this mean?

Question

I was in a pool and this guy came in, he shot me in the chest because I think I did something but I cant remember what. And he thought he killed me, and was all happy and he left. But it really felt like I got shot except it didnt hurt, I was just a bit numb and i knew there was a bullet in my chest. Later I got ot my apartement and I kept asking my parents to take me to the hospital but they kept saying I was fine. Then I saw this girl (because we were in the hallway of our apartement) and she saw that I was alive. She was my friend (In the dream not in real life) and she said she was gonna tell the guy who shot me. I thought he was going to come back for me or something, so then I tried running and woke up.

Sorry if that was too detailed, but I'm really wondering what it means.

A dream that you are shot, represents a form of self-punishment that you may be unconsciously imposing on yourself. You may have done something that you are ashamed of or are not proud of.  If you are shot and come back as a different person, then it indicates that  you to start fresh. You want to wipe the past away and literally become a new person.

I think getting shot in the pool means that you feel you are in too deep, that you might drown, in your life.  And no one is there for you: your parents ignore you and your "friend" helps your attacker.  The guy who shot you is a stranger which means you  think life in general will come and get you and no one will be there to help you.
