I had a dream where I saw my mother sitting in my yard holding a cat in her lap..both had passed away long ago

What does this dream mean? My mother and I weren't close..she never saw that cat..I got it long after she passed away....and the cat passed away about 4 years ago.

That the cat's spirit is safe with her, and she's ok too, and they are watchin over you.  or maybe your mind is doing tricks. you cant control what you dream about. but just remember that the dream you had was special, and don't let the (people who are ignorant and leave stupid comments) on yahoo answers, tell you that you are stupid or something like that. Well, the mother signifies nurturing, regardless of your relationship, she was still your mother, unless you were raised by another.  The cat can signify creativity, and or loyalty.  But this all depends on what your beliefs are.
