You didn't mention if the fusion worked for a while or if it has always hurt. You also didn't mention if your fusion used rods and screws or not. Many times after back surgery (fusion) it puts extra tension on the vertebrae above and or below. There are two strong possibilities.

First, the fusion didn't work or it failed. Second, you have hurt your back again. You need to see your doctor again to see what is going on with your fusion and the adjacent disks.pp
