In the tank there were 3 gold fish, the lobster, and a plec. One day I was having a look at the fish and couldnt find the plec, checked under stones, rocks, in the filter etc but is no where to be seen. I would have thought if the lobster had eaten it then there would at least be " bits" of it in the tank

  1. Probably yes, you shouldn't put lobsters in with bottom feeders, when the fish is resting the lobster can catch and eat it.

  2. get rid of the lobster it will eat all your fish

  3. It should have bones left at least, lobster shouldn't have eaten it so fast. However, you should not have your pleco to be kept with lobster. First, pleco is at the bottom of water, which is very easy to be caught by the lobster.

Lobsters like frogs and other underwater animals the best.

  4. Yes, and tell your goldfish to watch their backs. Lobster will eat anything they can get their claws into.

  5. yup lobster has eaten it, they will take on bigger fish than them selves n scoff the lot, dump the lobster or other fish will vanish

  6. it was a greedy lobster -  did you not check b4 putting in that this wouldnt happen ??

  7. Yes, that is highly possible. Lobsters can be quite violent. I had a crab once and it killed 2 fish in the space of a few days. You could be lucky as plecos are known to hide away, and even after checking, plecos are brilliant little hiders! And as you say, there should still be 'bits' left in the tank even if the lobster ate it.
