  1. Let me tell you this,I have both !

My company provided me the Tom Tom and it was so c**p that I went out and bought myself the Garmin which was £299.

The Garmin is fantastic in both North and South of Ireland,it gets confused very occasionally but usually when there has been a new or road works,it can be updated via the internet.

Two of my friends have older versions of the Garmin and are both in Ireland and they have no problems with them.

Unless Tom Tom have drastically changed in the last two months I would strongly advise you to steer clear of any of their systems for Irish use;you certainly would be better of with a good old paper map than a Tom Tom !

    Good luck !

  2. USED BOTH,BUT ALLWAYS GO BACK TO TOM TOM.

  3. Not much between them, they're both at the cheap end of sat-navs, my Tom Tom has never let me down and knows where all those frigging speed cameras are.

  4. You need a Jon Joe

try this link for a demo

  5. Tom Tom and Garmin are both working off  V9 maps so they are much the same. we bought  a Garmin one mainly for the wifes taxi and we find it very good
