I wanted to know if there has been a year that was better than another or doesn´t champagne work that way?

I want to get my boss a bottle. Possibly even a vintage collector bottle?

Any good web sites out there in regards to this?

  1. Yes it applies to Champagne big time.

Here's a site( one of many).

Alot of good ones out there.

Cristal is not the beginning or the end.

    I prefer Salon.

  2. The high-end Champagnes (Dom, Crystal, etc.) are only available in Vintages. The 1996 and 1993 are pretty amazing. You'll be looking to spend a good $400 - $600 for a great Vintage, though.

  3. Agree with previous answers, but just to give an alternative may I  also suggest you look at 'Taitinger Blanc de Blanc comtes de champagne'.. again only done in vintage years and a fantastic creamy taste... but not cheap.

If that's a bit rich for what you want.... it's purely my personal taste, but a bottle of pink champagne either 'Laurent Perrier Brut Rose' (not vintage, but still my choice) or 'Perrier Jouet, Belle Epoque Rosé' are 'relatively' inexpensive and stylish gifts with interesting bottles and fantastic contents.
