I had a rally grifter in the 80s

did anyone have the same problems as i had with the twist grip gears ?

..............mine never worked properley.

Oooh you lucky thing - I always wanted a Grifter, but all I ended up with was an old butcher's bike!

i had a grifter for a short time,never had any problems with it,but then again my father did have his own bicycle shop

My son had one and like you he did have problems with the twistgrip gearshift.  We should have tucked it away if the loft when he outgrew it, they say that these have become collectable and fetch a good price.
