About ten years ago I received a seven-year savings bond for $100 and deposited in a small bank in Texas back in my hometown. The bank doesn't even exist anymore - it is the parking lot of a church, and I don't have the paperwork anymore. But it was deposited in my name, so I assume it's still there, right? How do I go about searching for it?

  1. try googling the banks name and see what happened to it. they may have been bought out and who ever bought them would now own you bond if all else fails you can contact the FDIC, i think all banks are insured by them so they may have records.

  2. Bonds are redeemed. Once you deposit them, they are already paid, so it wouldn't be there anymore.
