i was up at a hotel in northern ireland in ballymena called the tullyglass hotel. i was walking around the grounds on my own quite bored in the afternoon and i was filming random things with his digital camcorder to amuse myself. it had never really used up til that point. my dad was sleeping in the car and my mum was inside. anyway i came across a wire mesh cage with a guard dog in it towards the back of the hotel so i stood about 15-20 feet away and zoomed in on him and recorded for about 7 seconds. anyway when i got home that evening i put the video on the computer and then watched it. i didnt hear anything at the time but just before i stopped recording a voice whispers really clearly the word "marmalade" could anyone think of a logical realistic explanation for this? it really freaked me out and i promise i am not making this up. i also have a link to the video it is on you tube;

  1. whoa thats kinda wierd.  i think that is YOU MESSING WITH US! lol  are you serious you didnt say that?

  2. Strange indeed, personally i have to keep going back and try to catch more footage.

    As for logical explanation well I can think of plenty from this side of the fence but without being there myself would just be speculation, and therefore be pointless.

    I have debunked a lot in the years of investigation the paranormal but i find that watching them on video someone else done too many ways to fake what i have seen.

    You know what you have rather it be real or not and that really is all that is important. If your really interested then a return trip would be well worth it. perhaps taking a friend with an audio recorder so you have two sources to catch footage on.

  3. woahh that's pretty scary watching it after you've put that story into my head!

    maybe there was stuff on the camera before, do you recognise the voice when you really think about it? Because maybe when you've recorded over something, the word 'marmalade' has somehow made it's way through.

    someone might have got hold of the camera and did it for a laugh, can't see why they'd want to say marmalade though.

    Otherwise, it's really strange and there's not really an explanation. I've got the creeps now - especially because it's that breed of dog.

  4. Either you're hearing things or someone was speaking and you missed it.  Really, you wouldn't have turned the volume all the way up and listened closely unless you were trying to hear something.  It's all in your head, or you didn't see someone else walking around.

  5. First, I don't know. However, I have been investigating unusual phenomena for years and I can tell you the critical questions you will have to overcome before this could be considered evidence of anything unusual. Was there a tape? many digital recorders still use tape. Was the tape brand new or was it recorded over? If the video went staright from camera to computer then it's useless, software programs are entirely to easy to edit in anything with. If there was a tape you would need a voice analysis of your fathers,(was it his videocam?), and yours, and anyone else there to eliminate the possibility of it being your voice that was recorded. The previous post in answer to this question about getting two sources tape recorder and video is excellent advice but the voice analysis would still be in order.

  6. oh, that's easy.  ghosts LOVE marmalade.  they like all canned fruits and preserves actually.

    some goblins like honey.
