I had a stroke in Sept 2006. When should I expect a decision on my 1st ?

I was denied on my 1st application and still have not heard on my 1st appeal. I was supposed to have gotten word by June 1st. My doc is completely with me, and doing as much as she can to help my appeal. I've also hired an attorney. I'm 27, had a severe stroke in 06, have no feeling on my left side, have trouble walking alone, double vision, severe migraines, and left sided weakness. I'm working very hard to bc mobile again, just need some help until I get there.

Both me and my only child were approved in six months on the first try.

There are no timelines. Some people hear within minutes - my son was approved at the time of application. Others wait for several years. The date they give you that you will hear by is overly ambitious - the system is stretched beyond capacity and most people are waiting 3 years.
