I had a t.v.given to me, when i change channels it stays on same channel,numbers change but not channel

i think it may be preset for a dvd/vcr attachment,,,put it on channel 3 or 4,,,if you can get 3/4,,,then attach a cable/dvd/vcr box to it,,,,,use that box as the channel tuner.......

go into the TV menu and run the auto program option, you can also manually enter channels in this menu
