I had a toilet that was running and I changed the float.

Question

Now when the water fills, the refilling of the water is like 10 times louder than before. Did I forget to hook up something?

It is probably filling faster and thus more noise.  I would say turn down the water supply and it would solve your problem...it will take longer to fill but should be a lot quiter.

No - the new float system just lets the water in faster.  You can turn the water line faucet down a little so it doesn't fill with so much force.
