I had a tune-up on my 2005 PT Cruiser. Since then my mileage is a lot lower. Is there any way to rectify this

I had a half tank of gas and traveled 79 miles and my gas tank was empty at that point. What would make the mpg change? I drove back roads and basically drove slower to conserve on gas. Instead my car gobbled it up. Average speed 50 mph.

If you have the 2.0L engine, I recently did a study on MPG of it and if you are mostly driving between 46.1 MPH and 60.8 MPH you will have a decrease in MPG.

Here is what i recommend: If driving is not on Highways, drive about 40. If on the freeway, optimum MPH is 64.6.

I have went from 25 MPG to 36 MPG without any additional cost to regular maintenance.

Maybe take it back to the shop and tell them what is happening and ask them to make sure everything is put back together right.
