Hi . I am 17 & I have a problem. I was bulimic and it has been a year since my last relapse. Nobody knows about the ED. Nobody. I am positive that it is behind me. The problem is that after all that purging my tooth is aching badly. The rest of my teeth are fine. But my enamel is almost gone. I live with my parents and I know I can go with a dentist and have it fixed, the problem is that my father is a dentist. He never checks me but I am afraid he will. help me! I an really scared. What should i do to have my teeth fixed without having my father know?

  1. Normally, the bulimic mouths that I have seen at work have had severe discoloration, terrible halitosis, and extensive decay. It's a whole mouth thing, not just one tooth. My sister also suffered from this and when she came in to the office you could tell she had had a problem with it. If you only have one tooth that is hurting, if the rest of your teeth look fine and nothing else is bothering you, if your breath smells normal and there are no other problems I doubt your father will know, assuming that he is the one treating you. It could also not be the bulimia that ate the enamel off your tooth, sometimes teeth have a weakness and that just happens. Either way, you need to get it looked at. Because if it gets infected and abscesses your father will definitely have a look.

  2. just tell ur mom to take you to someone else..

my ? to you is how do you fix the enamel, cause mine is wearing off??

  3. You are starving your body of MUCH needed nutrients..your teeth are gonna fall out one by one.  After alot of toothaches.

  4. Just tell your dad that your tooth is acting up.  You cannot let your teeth get into bad shape.
