I had ankle surgery last month from volleyball?

I need exercises to help me get back in shape from the surgery. I am very week from not walking for more than a month. Any ideas to help me get stronger so i can play again?

Do Not start out by sprinting you will only hurt yourself further.  Some great exercises are to write the ABC's with your big toe, Roll up a towel with your toes, and probably one of the best is balancing on your foot.  These three exercises will do two things.  First increase flexibility again in your ankle and more importantly build strength.  Once you feel that your ankle is back to a place where you will not be favoring it while you exercises, then and only then should you start training for volleyball again.  If you try to get back to soon you will just end up hurting yourself more.

    Some of the previous suggestions are very good. Drawing the Alphabet with your big toe is a great way to start getting your mobility back.  

    To start strengthening it I would suggest that you do several things. If you're ok to be walking on it I would walk every day either around your block or on a tread mill or wherever you can by using it it will begin to strengthen.  Once you start feeling up to it you can begin using light weight on it. Either ankle weights while you walk, slowly increase your walking to jogging and running, start working out in the gym.

    The key thing is to increase the activity slowly to give your ankle time to adjust to each new activity.

  6. i would start out slow and slowly increase your amount of exercise.  if you start out with sprinting you could damage your angle again.

    also, i would do some sit ups or something to get back your strenght in your abs.

  7. Trace the letters of the alphabet with your foot. This will increase your range of motion, flexibility, and strength.

    First do it barefoot. Then with a heavy shoe.

    After that... start sprinting right away.
