Question:

I had been graduated in colombia whre are 11 years and i came to usa they say me that i cant go to high school

hi i had been graduated of high school from colombia and i just came from usa i go to a high school and the admissions person said me that if i had been graduated i cant go to high school again even in colombia are just 11 grades and here are 12 they just said me go to college... i went to college and the said me that if i want go college i had been live one year at the less in my county if i want to pay razonable price, 300 dollars if i want go now and 100 if i wait 1 year....

then the guy of college just said me take a part time and english clases for 1 year.... then...

i wanna know the motive why in the high school they cant admit me .... what law say that i cant go to school if im graduated in other country even i there is less years.... thank you a lot 4 urn answer

  1. Graduated means done, finished, doesn't matter where you finished, you're done!  Doesn't matter how many years.  Graduated means you can't go back again.

    The college guy had a good plan:  go to English language classes for a year while you're waiting so you have a year's residency.  Then go to college!

  3. If you finished high school in your country then you don't need 2 go to high school here. It wouldn't make sense (even thought here we have one more year of high school). Make sure you have your graduation papers from your school. Look in your local library or center for ESL classes & general math classes.(The classes should be free). This will help you prepare for the college entrance exam. Finally the benefit of waiting a 1yr is you will get a reduced rate because you will be considered a resident of that area. Good Luck!!
