I have the comcast Cable box and everything.I am trying to get my cable t.v. back in my room. I have the cable cord coming out of the wall, so everything is set up. The only problem is that i dont get cable when i plug it into the t.v., because obviously i canceled comcast, but i want to know if it is possible to go and do something so i can turn it back on myself. It shouldnt be hard.

  1. So your asking the yahoo answer community to give you advice on how to commit a felony. I think your best bet is to pay for cable or satellite.

  2. i'd pay for cable.

  3. if you're trying to steal cable because you don't want to pay for it or whatever reason, let me warn you that it's considered signal fraud and carries a massive monetary penalty and/or jail time. I advise against it.

If, however, you're talking about legitimately turning the services back on you can call Comcast. So long as you haven't made any changes to the existing installation (such as getting a satellite provider, who will oftentimes use the same installation to avoid drilling excessively in the walls) they should be able to get your services started again for you and get you on your way.

By the way, the way these systems work by authorizations. The cable box has a set of authorizations stored within them that can only be renewed by the cable company - the same authorizations that give you access to whatever channels you subscribe to. It's VERY hard to get around the system.
