I had doubt like this...while we copying the file from one place to other..if we interrupt it..all data vl be?

why we cant get the data till it copied..for example if file copied for 99% and we stopped there ..all the data is lost...why cant we retrieve upto dat percent?

  2. Say you were getting a Xerox, & the Xerox machine broke down.. Would you loose the original document??

    Even if you were moving & interrupted, what the OS does is that it starts  a copy, then deletes the original.So in the middle of a "move" if the computer concked off, you still have your data..

    When you give a copy command, & then cancel it, the whole command is canceled. your OS assumes that you have changed your mind & do not want a copy now. So it deletes whatever it had copied till that point.

    the reason the OS does not allow for a partial save is because most of the files would be incomplete & would not work properly, & hence useless. SO why waste space? Yet we do have an option where sometimes when the OS slips, we get scrap files.. Happens mostly with DOC files & sometimes the files have some data, but most of the times, they don't work..


  3. It is because the file remains from where u are copying it.So, the full files cannot be copied.
