  1. I am not sure what you mean by "Lapse Period"?  Is that a term defined in your policy. Most have a list of terms and definitions.

Most policies work something like this....payment due date on the 10th, then a policy cancellation date of the 17th at 12:01am.

If you were past the last date, then I would say they do not have to pay.  Do you have an agent or buy direct. An agent might be able to help.

  2. if your policy was lapsed, then they are not going to cover your loss.  even if they agree to reinstate your policy, they will do it with the lapse so there is no coverage during that time period.

  3. Was the policy cancelled or was it in cancellation status?  If it was cancelled you do not have coverage at the time of your accident; it doesn't matter how long you were insured with them; it's your responsibility to make the payments.  If it was in cancellation status you may have a chance to have the policy reinstated if you make a payment immediately.

And, if you ever fall prey to such accident, having an insurance helps you alleviating the financial burden during such tragic moments. People who are still unaware of what Accident Insurance is, they can understand in simple term that by availing the insurance facility, you are paid a certain amount of money by insurance company as compensation-->Generally,the insurance covers mishaps like organ loss like hands, eyes and legs, death in air, rail and car accident. The principal sum paid to a family ranges from $25,000 to $1,00,000. But you are excluded from being paid the amount if accidents persists due to drunken driving and trying risky sports like bungee jumping, car racing, skiing, scuba diving, etc.

  5. You are not covered by my insur. policy rules. The last note they send asking for my premium says after -- o"clock you will have no coverage. That menas NO COVER. The same thing happened to my nephew, he drove 3 blocks and someone ran a red light- he lapsed, was the other drivers fault, but he had to eat it because he had a lapse in coverage.

  7. You automatically have a 30 day grace period after the premium due date. If you have exceeded this 30 day period, your policy has lapsed and you are out of luck. If you have been with this company for 10 years without a claim, you might be able to discuss this with the company...I hope you have a good agent...that might help.
