  1. If you're interviewing to be a teacher, here is some advice:

    1. Dress appropriately.  Males should wear a business suit with a tie.  If you have excessive piercings, you probably should remove them and make yourself look as conservative as possible.

    2.  Research the school you are interviewing for.  Find out what the community is like, the demographics of the school, and if the school has any mission statements.  State school report cards are a good place to start; you can find them online.

    3.  Be on time!  You probably should be early.  If you have to talk to a secretary or receptionist when you enter the building, be kind to them, as well.  Leave a good impression with everyone you meet in the building.

    4.  When you enter the interview, firmly shake hands with the interview committee and keep eye contact with the people who are talking to you.  Also make eye contact when answering questions.

    5.  Answer questions truthfully and with your best grammar possible.  (Try to avoid using excessive slang and saying "like" and "um" every other sentence.)  It might be helpful to search some possible interview questions out on the Internet before your interview.  If the committee asks you about an educational philosophy or method you have never heard of, don't make up an answer--they can tell when you have no clue.  (You might want to say, "I'm not up to date with _______, but I'd love to learn more" or something like that.)

    6.  After the interview is over, you really should send a thank you letter to the interview committee, or at least the head of the committee.  Make sure it is grammatically correct with no typos or spelling errors.

These are just some tips based on my experience, so good luck!
