She says she looks like Dora the Explorer, and pulls on it thinking she will make it grow. Any ideas to change it up a little so she feels better about it.

  1. Show her some pictures of famous adult women with bobs, like Jennifer anniston: http://www.beauty-and-the-bath.com/Celeb...

    Katie Holmes: http://womenshair.about.com/od/celebrity...

    Jenny mccarthy: http://womenshair.about.com/od/celebrity...

tell her that no matter what her hair looks like, she can pull it off. if she's comfortable and feels cute in it, she'll look cute and comfortable. I hope this works!! you could also try scrunching it w/ moose or small braids or barrettes. good luck!

  2. Accessorize! Buy her hair bows or headbands and tell her it looks much better when you accessorize =].

Also, try different parts on her hair, like a left part, instead of one down the middle. Or use bobby pins to pin some hair back.

She's 4, and playing with accessories and fin barrettes should be fun. Or ask people, like friends and family tell her what awesome haircut she got when they see her

  3. that happened to me whe was 5 and kids made soooo much fun of me. i still don't know why they did, and it was the  older kids that did it, i wanted to die, but maybe you can find her a nice barbie with short hair and show her that short hair can be beautiful.

FYI i still remember the month of teasing i went through, try to do everything you can to help make it easier for her, get her nice headbands with glitter and all that jazz

  4. curl it for her and tell her that she looks cute that way.

Her hair will grow, if curling it today doesnt make a difference then try to get her distracted whenever she tries to talk about it again.

  5. no offense but first of all she's just a 4 year old why should she care about hair styles second their are kids her age that don't even have hair she should be thankful for even having hair instead of being bald and you're her parent show her who's the boss make her like it

4 year olds shouldn't be worrying about their hair she's not even in her young adult period yet

(also Dora the Explorer is awsome):D

if she still pulls her hair don't worry about it just react surprised whenever u look at her say something like wow honey how di ur hair get so long she's 4 improvise on something and she'll belive it if she's smart come up with something hard for her to understand and explain to her that her hair got longer

  6. awwww

tell her that dora the explorer is really cool and that all of her friends will love it when they see her.

    OR

try to kinda trick her, like if she doesn't eat her veggies, then say "if you eat your veggies you hair will grow"and if she doesn't clean up her toy mess or something,, say "if you don't clean up yur hair won't grow."

use it to your advantage ;)

  7. tell her eventually it will grow. The same thing happened to my sister, and she got over it, (shes 6) btw shes only 4 not 14 so its not really a big deal, its not like she'll have self esteem issues.  try to get her to focus on other things instead of her hair

  8. tell her that pulling on it is bad for the hair and it will grow if she just leaves it alone. buy her some new hairslides or something to make up for it and make it look a bit more special. when washing her hair, make sure to massage the shampoo in well so it stimulates the hair to grow.
