i met this girl to go out on a date. i picked her up to go out to a restaurant. We were in my car listening to the ipod that was connected to my car stereo. She made a comment how she liked my music. We got to the restaurant, I got out of the car before she did. So I remember locking the car doors as were walking. The parking lot was empty. We got back to leave the ipod was gone. I can't believe anybody, but her to be the one who had stolen it. I don't want to believe she did it, but nobody else would steal it without signs of breaking in to my car. I'm not positive for sure, but I have to admit I also paid for dinner and she did not offer to pay. When we got back to the car she did help me look for it, of course. I have to say she was strange about it. Needless to say, I will not take her out again. What do you think? should i call the police?

  1. I would say that accept the fact that your ipod is gone.  You cannot prove that she took it unless you see it in her possession.   Just be thankful that it was only the ipod that was taken.   It could have been far worse.  She could have gone to the restroom, slipped out and have stolen  your whole car or taken your credit cards or even your identity.

Buy a new ipod and consider this a lesson well learned.

  2. ****! Thats an awkward situation aye. Theres not much the police can do... When mine was stolen we told them, they just wanted the serial numbers, but none of us every heard from them about it again. Our place got robbed on schoolies, so did a lot of other schoolies kids. Theres really not much the cops can do. If the chick was pretty poor she could have stolen it to sell to a pawn shop or somehting, if you have the documentation u can checked to see if its turned up there. But chances are she stole it coz she likes your music! So not much u can do. Maybe talk to her and tell her your going to the cops?

  3. Call the CSI forensics!  I recommend it!

  4. Unless you keep photo and serial number records of all your electronics, calling the cops wont do anything.  All she has to do is say that it is her's.  Possession being 9/10 of the law.  Perhaps you should confront her.  If you have no intention of going out with her again anyways, what's that harm?

  5. The only explanation is that she took it. I doubt the police will do anything about it apart from write down it was stolen and "hope that someone hands it in". If you go back to her house anytime have a look round for it. Next time, get a UV pen and write your name & address on the back of the ipod (the ink dries clear) and then if it is handed into a police station then they know who it belongs to.

  6. i think you sould get closer to her and try and see if you can find it in her house or if she will tell you and tyhe cops wount do anything about it

  7. buy a new one.

  8. You should at least report your ipod as lost/stolen if only for insurrance purposes ( if you have any ) as it might come under your house hold insurrance.

I left my bag on a train once, had everything in it, phone, purse etc, I rang my local police was issued with a crime number, a friend advised me to call my insurers so I did & I was actually covered for my loss under the terms of my policy, I was liable for the first £50 admittedly, but my losses that day totalled over £400.

    You might be covered too.

    Good Luck. X :-)

  9. Anyone with a 'slim jim' can open your car doors.  Once I locked my keys in the car when I went to a service station.  They opened it with a slim jim about as fast as I could have with a key.

    Always trust your girl friends.

You can buy another ipod, but you can't buy another girl friend.

  10. to be honest they will just file a report and probably wont even follow up your suspicions on this girl...in my opinion she definitely did it, some people just cannot be trusted and I would definitely not take her out again.

This makes me sad, because I had a similar thing happen, but my ibook was stolen, so I feel for ya.

Just get a little more careful in future, or just be more picky with your dates.

    Hope this helps

  11. Geez if she stole it I hope it locks up on her.  However, you have no proof so learn from the experience.  I have an ipod and it is registered with Apple by the serial numbers, when I need to get it serviced the Apple stores have my information.  This won't get your Ipod back but at least when it needs servicing it will be registered to you.  You should make out a police report and then contact your car insurance company and get something back as long as you have full coverage. You can also claim on your home or apartment owners policy.  If you have a large deductible it might not be worth the claim.

  12. I'm sorry to say but there is nothing you can do,  nor can the police.

But,  have you tried calling her?

And it might of fallen out of the car when you got out,  if that was the case,  someone would have snatched it instantly.

I've had my iPod stolen before,  it  really sucked to I was so mad,  and also because I'm pretty sure I knew who took it...

  13. report it to the police any item you have from now on if you put your postcode and name on it with a ultra red pen that can be easily detected.and cannot be erased.

  14. WHY DON`T YOU GET ANOTHER IPOD AND GET THE POLICE TO HELP YOU BUST THE THIEF .BY LETTING HER KNOW YOU GOT ANOTHER IPOD . AND WHEN SHE STEALS THIS ONE .THEY GOT HER FOR BOTH THIEFS.
