I had my period on July 4th. Today is July 25th. When can I take a pregnancy test at the earliest?

i heard there is a pregnancy test that you can take a week before your missed period. but i cannot recall the name, i'm sorry. i do know that it is best to wait until you have missed a period.

Usually people wait until their first missed period. I think it's because it won't show up much earlier than that on a test. Good luck! :)

Pregnancy test detects urinary HCG level which is produced by developing embryo. Level starts increasing rapidly with gestation. But it is detectable in urine only after 20 days of confinement, that is about 5-7 days after missed periods(more for short periods cycle  i.e <25days). So you can do test as early as 5days after missed periods ,  but later you do it more accurate you will be.

i say wait a week after missed period but there are hpt that can tell the day you miss your period or even a few days before with my first i was 3 weeks and with my second i was 2 weeks and with the one i had a miscarriage with the first time i was 13 days but just knew then recently had miscarriage and on the blood test a few days before it said my level was at 3 so they siad i was not even pregnant but i knew better.

Depends on how long your cycle is.  If it is around 28 or 29 days, then you should be able to take it August 1 or 2.  That might still be too early to catch a positive result though, so if you get a negative, but still don't get your period, then you should test again in a few days.
