I'm spitting up clumps of blood, and when I apply guaze and bite down for 30 minutes I just bleed more. Should I call my surgeon or is this normal?

  1. I had mine taken out and that happened to me.  Instead of just having the gauze in your mouth for only 30 mins at a time, leave it in there for maybe a couple of hours before removing it so it has a better chance of healing. If you take the gauze out, replace it with more.  You should do that for a couple more days.  try not to move your jaw so much and dont mess with it.  If it is bleeding where blood fills your mouth in a short amount of time you might wanna call your surgeon.

  2. Whenever something happens to make your mouth bleed, it'll bleed like you got hurt alot worse than you did. I was a rough kid and took alot of tumbles and I can remember my mom always saying "mouths bleed and the only thing to stop them is a popscicle", the ice kind of stops it a little and it took my little kid mind off of the blood too.

  3. its normal to have pools of blood, but usually they clot within a day. eat some apple sauce (any soft fruits and veggies) because they are supposed to aid in clotting blood in your body natrually. i do think you should call your doctor though because two days is, i believe, too long of a time for them to still be bleeding profusely like that.

  4. Maybe you should call but im not sure. If you are very worried then call.

  5. Take some caffeinated tea bags and soak them in cold water then bite down on them for about a half hour. If it doesn't stop after that call your dentist.
