I had my wisdom teeth taken out 3 days ago, I am still in great pain and now both my ears hurt. Why is that?

It hurts like ear infection kind of pain. I work at the hospital and I am suppose to go back into work tonight for the first time sense I had my wisdom teeth cut out. I am just afraid of going in bc I wont be able to take my pain killers if I go into work. So not only does my mouth hurt my ears are killing me too.

If it hurts you that much and it's bothering your ears too, it is likely that you have a dry socket. Go into your surgeon's office and they will give you some medication to put over the infected hole and it will get rid of the pain almost instantly.

I had mine out on the 6th...I'm also going through some pain. I actually had 7 teeth removed all together which sucked but at least not 7 that are visible...2 of them were up inside my gums (extra teeth). Anyway, I'd call your dentist and maybe go in for a check up. Are you brushing and rinsing?

I'm on a regimen of Ibuprofen and Vicodin and Amoxicillin. I'm taking the Ibuprofen about 3 times a day, the Vicodin every 4 hours and the Amoxicillin 3 times daily. Also, brush and rinse with the prescription rinse after I wake up and before I go to bed. On day 3 your supposed to be also doing warm salt rinses but I haven't done that yet.  

How did you eat? I've been living on plain chocolate ice cream and pudding. The first day I tried to eat jello but couldn't until today and it took alot of work just to get it down. I also tried mashed potatoes today from the box (softer) that was okie just a bit salty. Also, you need to drink alot of water...DON'T use straws and DON'T smoke.

Good luck and call your dentist to have a checkup! My surgeon called me today to check up on me and to see if I had any questions. I have a check up next wednesday...I'd look into going into your dentist to see if they can look!
