It might be too early. But are you sure you're counting your cycle correctly? a 17 day Luteal Phase is pretty long. Usually they are between 10 and 14 days. Most tests say you should only test 5 days before your period is due and it is MOST accurate after your period is late.

you will get the most accurate results after you miss a period... anytime before that you are likely to get false negatives

It's WAY too early to take an HPT.  If you take one now, you'll very likely get a negative result and be upset.  You'll also be confused and unsure of the results because you won't know if it was too early or if you really aren't pregnant.  Just be patient and wait until AF is due.  Good luck!

you may have calculated wrong bc she is right, a 17 day luteal phase is long... so you can go ahead and take a test, if you want... however, if it is negative wait another week, and take another one!!!

I agree. Either you miscalculated ovulation, or you can test sooner than you thought. Ovulation is always around 14 days before your next period. It can range from 10-16 in some cases, but not 17. If you're SURE about ovulation, you can test tomorrow. If you're sure about your period, then your ovulation calculation is a little off.
