I had submitted my IT returns for 2007-08 last financial year.I need to get huge amount from IT Dept.Till now i didn't get that amount, for this whom i need to contact or any details where i need to get that amount.Thanks in Advance

The IT refund for the assessment 2007-08 is under process and the department is in process of releasing the same. As you know the pactice in indian govt sector no work is done without proper lisoning. SO visit to the IT ward where you filed your return alongwith the acknowledgement. You will have to file an application with your Ward officer requesting the dept to expedite the refund. Take ack on the duplicate copy of the letter and retain for safe custody.

Pester the dept every month by Reg letter till such time you receive the refund, if at all you are eligible.

U personally visit the ward where u have filed the return and find outr the status of ur refund.Nowadays.There is an ombudsman in Income Tax Office to redress the grievances of assessees .That course is also very effective.

The Income tax Department is liable to refund the amount after completion of assessment and they will pay along with penal Interest. If the amount is huge it is better to contact good Tax Practitioner who will help you to get that money.
