I had to move out of state due to a family emergency( i am not from the US) and don't know when i will be back.

Now the problem is that i was in the process of moving into my brand new one bedroom apt when emergency ocured and had to leave.

Now my question is how it will affect me, since i have not giving any notice to the leasing office.

also i am overseas and there is nothing i can really do. also the landlord doesn't have my social security number since i don't have one. So please help me by letting me know what will happen and thank you for your time

  1. Whatever happens will be up to the landlord.

State and local law govern this situation. Google that state + "tenant landlord law."

Since you did not complete the move-in, AND you are gone from the country, I doubt your landlord will pursue you for payment. The apartment is ready for move-in AND people are still calling from the ad.

On the other hand, you might just have a hard-*** landlord with a lot of time on her hands who is willing to get a judgment against you, then attack your credit.
