i had an appointment the day i had to get rid of him and didnt get to say goodbye the lady came to pick him up while i was gone and the agreement was for me to meet them before giving him away. a few days before i gave him a way we wanted to see how he would react with a dog around him and he hissed at the dog and clawed me and ran. the lady emailed me that took him and said that her dogs played with my cat and that my cat thumper played with them back. i asked her if i could say good bye and come to her house and she didn't respond and kept making excuses. according to my husband thumper did not want to go and ran from him when he tried to put him in the kitty cage and thumper clawed him so he had to carry thumper down into their car. The lady sent pictures of him where one picture looked like he was crying or sad and the other one was with thumper l*****g the ear of her cat trouble. I don't know what to believe in what she says and don't understand why it would be so bothersome to go visit him or say goodbye. shes been to my house and i didn't even know her. does anyone have suggestions as to what i should do?

  1. poor kitty.

you chose to give your cat away instead of trying other avenues.

ie claritin, alavert, flonase, zytec, sudafed.

all you can do now is hope he has a better life with a family who will not "get rid of him".

  2. you gave away your cat to someone you didn't know and didn't have a clause in the contract that you need to have at least one in home visits to make sure that it is a good home for him.

of course if it was me, I wouldn't give my cats away for the world.

  3. cats are very resilient and adaptable. your cat will be fine.

i can understand you feeling a bit "ugggg" about it...but that will pass.

if the lady won't let you come say "goodbye" to the cat there's not much you can do about it.

the cat won't suffer cause you didn't say goodbye...you are just heart broken over having to give it away and want to say goodbye for your own sake...but think about that...once you see it again and say goodbye don't you think you'll feel worse all over again? like want to take it back with you or feel the pain of parting all over again?

i'd try to let it go dear.

you did what you had to do and the cat has a good home.
