I had 3 different epidurals last week when i delivered my son the first one they did when he was placing it in my bad made my neck go numb, so he took it out and tried a different spot, the second one made my left leg numb when he would try to push the catheter in my back, he took that one out and tried again, that time it worked, after i gave birth and everything wore off, i got a spinal headache, and had to have a blood patch done to make it go away, that worked for the headache, but now i cant stand walk or reach for anything without getting muscle spasms down my back, butt, legs and all the way to my feet, they drop me to my knees they hurt so bad has anyone else had this problem will it go away, the dr just told me if it doesn't stop to go to the ER, i can hardly take care of my baby i cant do anything it hurts so bad, please help

  1. Epidurals suck. No one tells women of the possible and probable side effects of these powerful drugs. You have to go to the ER immediately and tell them what he did to you so that they can try to fix it. Go right now, bring the baby along if you have to. So sorry to hear this. Best wishes, G

  2. girl go back to that ER they pierced your spinal cord!!  Make them give you some medication and I know I would be so pissed off at that doctor!!

  3. That sucks, i avoid epidurals at all costs.

  4. My heart goes out to you.  I can imagine this is a very scary experience.  I have been trying to find something online that may be helpful or give you the information you need.  I have not come up with anything, but if I do, will edit my response.

I recommend that you go the the emergency room.  I wish you the best.

  5. wow 3 i cant image, i would ask a  second opinion or a lwayer

  6. I would go to the ER.  They probably hit something they shouldn't of when they tried to put the epidural in.   They also can give you something for the pain.

  7. I am so sorry for your pain. I had a very similar experience with my epidural- it stopped working and somehow it came out so they had to reinsert it, but it never worked properly again and caused me to get an infection, get a temperature, and have an emergency c-section. I would definitely go to the ER if you aren't feeling better. I had my son 14 months ago and I have been seeing an orthopedist since his birth for all of my back pain. It used to hurt even to go to sleep in bed at night and I definitely couldn't pick him up either. Unfortunately the doctors said this is one of the risks associated with getting an epidural. They couldn't do anything for me except recommend different exercises to help strengthen my back, start exercise therapy, and use pain medication. Honestly the only thing that helped me was time. Now that it has been 14 months I can see that being more active helps me be more comfortable at night when trying to sleep, though. You should seek help as soon as possible to help with the pain because I know it is horrible. I can still feel the place where my epidural was inserted- it feels bruised all around it and there is an indention. Good luck with finding a good treatment and if you do, please let me know! I never knew the dangers of having an epidural and I never would have had one if I had known. :(

  8. Go to the ER! I had a epidural with my 1st and they also had to try 3 times. They couldn't get it through my spine the first 2x so they kept moving up. I can say for me, everything went fine. I was super still and terrified something would go wrong. The site did hurt for a month or two after delivery, but I never had muscle spams. You might need a muscle relaxer to help. Good Luck!
