  1. Install the software again, or plug it in and see if anything pops up saying to install the driver. If not, just shove the software that came with it in the CD drive and install the driver

  2. Did you not format using the recovery disc or recovery partition? Both should contain the drivers for the inbuilt device. If you have a recovery CD or DVD you should be able to get Windows to search for the driver there. If you can not connect to the internet by wireless you should be able to connect the cable that came with your router to the Laptop and the router and connect that way, then go to the manufacturers website and download the right driver (and any others) from there.

  3. Go to the manufacturer of the laptop's website and see if you can type in the model number and look for "Drivers" or "Driver downloads" and download and install the driver for it.  Obviously if your wireless card doesn't work and it is the only method of connectivity on that laptop, you're going to have to use another computer and bring the driver over to the laptop using a USB stick or other media.

  4. You don't mention what Operating System you have.  The newer Windows are pretty good at recognizing new hardware.  If it is a PCMCIA card then you might try taking it out and then inserting it when the OS is up and running.   Also you might go to the internet (on another machine) and try to find driver software to download.  Try Control Panel - install new hardware.  Those are the things I would try.

  5. You need the wireless card drivers - ask your son for the disk or visit the manufacturers web site and download them

  6. You probably need to download and reinstall the correct drivers for that wireless card.  When you reformat, you sometimes need reinstall certain drivers.
