  1. yes

  2. I wouldnt go for arm wrestling if I were you.. Sorry for the loss of limb,  but seriously , if your looking @ contact sports,  such as karate, jui jitsu or the like ,  you will probably have a tough time succeeding

  3. yes, you just have to find the right teacher.  did you see the article about the quad (yes quad) amputee who wrestled and made it to state?  it might take a bit of extra effort to find the right teacher.  check out many of them before you pick the right one. they are not all the same.  good luck

  4. i think you'll be at a severe disagvantage, seeing i dnt know many people who would let you fight using a prostetic limb as they tend to be quite hard and may put ur opponents at risk. you could train the moves to some extent, i know in jujitsu we train all the throws with one arm behind our back, but you would have severe difficulty getting locks on without your arm.

if you ever came to our club we'd be happy to let u train, wer in liverpool england

  5. if you have no legs you can wrestle, but missing an arm, i dont know.

actually maybe olympic style tae kwon do since its mostly all kicks

or if youre allowed to, get an alluminium prosthetic arm and take up mma lol no one will want to get hit by that

  6. just put ur heart and ur sou int it god will take care of u

  7. where theres a will there a way!

look at the guy who has 2 prostetic legs,he runs races.

Chin up,stay positive, you still have your life!

count your blessings, and if you really want it,you can do it!

    Have faith in yourself!

    Good luck!!!!

  8. Yes, you can do anything you want to... Talk to the Sensei(sp) (teacher)  he can help you in your endeavors you can do anything you want. there is a Man who is a member of the Golden Eagles who is a double amputee and he still parachutes.

  9. sorry to hear that ,  not sure to be honest,  but I wouldnt see why not,

  10. well, if i am correct, i believe that martial arts revolves around the spirit, mind, and body, with the mind being most important, so if you have the right mindset, then i believe you can do it.. good luck

  11. As long as you have the determination, you can do anything: just watch this video!

  12. yeah no probs with a few adjustments to technique/style

  13. 1 Disability Martial Arts International Association

    2 DISABILITY SPORT

    3 Martial Arts: Disabled

  14. I will say that it'll be harder to find an instructor, but you can do any [good] martial art one armed, no armed, and no legged.

We actually have a school in the Bujinkan called Gikan Ryu, that one of the Soke [10th soke, Uryu Gikan (1865-1868)] was a soldier who lost one arm to a musket blast. Since Gikan Ryu passed from Soke to Soke almost exclusively, it seems logical that it would have a great deal of influence on the techniques of that school.

Structurally, the prosthetic arm will not be a good tool. I would suggest learning the style without the prosthetic so as to remove the dependency in your movement on that arm. You form will be better and you'll be capable of focusing on principles on the right side without concern over the struggles with the left.

    Keep going.

  15. if you have the determination nothing will stop you

but you can also find martial arts that wont be affect by your arm not being there

Tae Kwon Do often times is laughed upon by the MMA world for sticking to stand up mostly kicks

but if you don't have an arm to punch with, something like Tae Kwon Do is perfect for you since its base is around striking with kicks

  16. Yes but it will be harder. They will probably make some changes for you, like giving you a routine that involves the legs more. They can't not let you participate.

There is a boy from our town who does martial arts and he has cerebral palsy, he does it on his knees.
