I hallucinate at night!

Ok, so it only happens when I go to sleep real late, at like 2am... I hallucinate simple things though, nothing big and scary like a Reptar breaking through my window but mostly visions that I have packed all my school stuff, sent emails I was meant to send, and packed my lunch and the next morning I find I have done none of it. I once even hallucinated that all the books in my locker were on my desk and I thought I left them at home when I was on my way to school the next day. Just mild, non psychadelic hallucinations!

Can you tell me why, is this normal and is it a sign of anything bad?

  1. i hallucinated once, thorght the matterace was attacking me and went in my mums room, chucked a pillow at her, she followed me downstairs and went to the back door, i opened it and told her to come outside, she then came outside and kept asking me what i was doing, she pulled me in and i hide in the bathroom, my mum told me all that, and its the weirdest thing i can ever think off cos i didnt realise i did any of it, if your worried go to your dp and explain whats happening to yourself, its nothing bad its just light dreaming, and then you think its real, i do it all the time, thinkin im falling down a lift and suddenly wake up, but it's something i just live with, i seem normal enough so im sure it might just be a phase, if it carries on go and speak to someone (:

better to talk then keep it in and get more stressed out (:

a problem heard is a problem halved (:

  2. It's actually not a hallucination.  What you're experiencing is a stage of really light sleep/dreaming.  Many people experience that same sort of thing, and it does make it really hard for you to get good sleep.  It's not a bad sign - it is a sign that your body is trying to rush through the stages of sleep to get to REM (where most of your resting and repairing is really done).  The best way to avoid it is - you guessed it - go to bed earlier and try to get at least 7 if not 8 hours of sleep per night.
