I hate asking questions in class. How else can I ask them?

I hate asking questions in my Economics class and in general. Some people are jerks about it and laugh or make mean comments. I talked to my teacher about it and she agreed that people are jerks about it because they don't understand. She's willing to help me with the class and any other subject I'm struggling in. She doesn't mind if I ask questions after class if that makes me more comfortable. Eventually, I'll have to get over this fear though. How can I?

it is very important to ask questions, but only whenyou don't understandd something

you are fortunate to have a teacher who is willing to help you after Usually they are busy with other classes

but as you know it wont always be like this

i wouldn't care what other students thought or said bc education comes first  you should just ask questions when needed and ignore the comments and they will eventually get bored and leave you alone

besides some students will be grateful for you asking

You could be asking too many questions and it might be getting on the other students nerves. In my experience, that would be the only reason peers would be jerks about questions. If that's the case I would only ask what you really need to know. If its the case that you really need to know everything, you might try asking some things during class but saving the rest until after class.

Say to the guy/gal whom ever is laughing at you "if you're so smart, what is the answer to my question?"    

if he/she can't answer and tries to evade the question, just comment "No one will think you're a mute when you keep your mouth shut."
