  1. You MUST be able to do chem to major in medical. So, you have to decide how committed you are to the medical field. It is a wonderful field where you can truly help people, there are so many different fields, and there is a lot of opportunity for growth. You would be well rewarded for life in that field!

Now, there are 2 things you can consider: first, start small. Go to a technical school and get certified as a phlebotomist or x-ray technician. You can start work right away. Then go back at night and get another certification and build your way along.

Second - take the bull by the horns and get a chem tutor! Go to your advisor at school, talk to the chem professor and ask for a grad student, etc. I hated chem also but had to have it to graduate. Nearly flunked Chem 101. I dropped it and went to local community college in summer. Got a great prof and a tutor and finally understood it! Got solid B for 101 and 102. I no long hate chem either. Funny how that works!

  2. You can be average in chemistry and still have a job in the medical field. You just can't be a doctor or pharmacist because those areas are all chemistry based.  You should check out nursing, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology tech, occupational therapy, speech therapy, etc...  The list goes on. You will have to take and pass chemistry and many other science courses like anatomy and physiology, biology and microbiology before even starting the specialized science courses for your particular program.  I hated chemistry and did just enough to pass with C's.  I did much better in my other science and math courses and am a respiratory therapist.  Good luck!

  3. the mcat requires you to take the mcat and you both orgo chem and gen chem, if you want to app;y to med school, you will need to review, not review make sure that you know chem

    so good luck
